With the sun shining and surrounded by her loved ones on October 27th, 2014 Audrey Daphine Blount left this temporary home behind and traded in her tired body for a glorious new one, free of pain forevermore.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, October 31, 2014 at Davidson Funeral Home conducted by her cousin, Preacher Clyde Akers.
Audrey blessed this world with her presence on April 20, 1945 in Richmond County, NC. Her mother, Flora Thelma Nichols was at Heavens gates to welcome home her precious only child. Audrey grew up with a multitude of cousins whom she called her brothers and sisters.
On January 1, 1976 Audrey met her soul mate, Theresa “Coach Mac” McDowell. Through the years their love grew and stood the test of time. Audrey had no children but she was a matriarch to a group who were blessed, because she chose them as her family, Cheryl “Hymie” Edwards, Gaye York, Cindy Coble, Joni Brank and Myra Hepler, along with countless others who will forever be changed by Audrey’s love.
Audrey was a pillar of strength. She was a friend to the friendless. She had a tremendous love for animals and supported the Humane Society Of The United States She will be greatly missed.
Just as she lived her life in her passing she wants to help others, so it was her wish that in lieu of flowers we carry on her legacy by making any memorials to the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House at 1229 Statesville Blvd. Salisbury, NC 28144.
