Auldie Roberts

Auldie Roberts 79 of Welcome passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016 at his home.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Hilltop Baptist Church with Pastor Dr. WA Seawell officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel. Auldie was born on February 23, 1937 in McDowell WV to Clyde and Gracie Bailey Roberts.  He had worked at Thomas Built Bus and worked with the Army Corps of Engineers.  Auldie was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Swanie Murphy Roberts; a brother, Delbert Roberts and a grandson, Jared Cole Roberts. Surviving is a son, Roy Acie Roberts (Angelia) of Welcome; brothers, Frankie Roberts (Evie) of Bassett, VA, Anthony Sammy Roberts (Evie) of Bassett, VA, Francis Ray Roberts of Southmont; sisters, Lenore Eller (Pat) of Lexington, Phillis Hancock (Harold) of Lexington, and Pinky Russell of Denton; grandchildren, Michelle Roberts of Ohio, Haley Roberts Walser of Advance; great grandchildren, Tyler Willet, Savannah Willet, Chelsea Willet and Dawson Walser and one great-great grandchild, Lucas Willet and a special friend "Doc" Everhart.
