Mr. Austin Harold Rose, 81, of Heath Church Road, died Saturday, May 5 at his home after an extended illness.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 8 at Calvary United Church of Christ, by the Revs. Kelly Barefoot and Harold Holste. Burial will follow at Holly Grove Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Mr. Rose was born May 29, 1930 in Davidson County to Bernie Lee Rose and Clyde Mae Hughes Rose. He was the president of Austin Rose and Sons, INC until his retirement in 1992. He was also a charter member and past president of the Davidson County Homebuilders Association and an avid deer hunter. His first wife, Doris Louise Conrad Rose, and his second wife, Delores Beck Alexander Rose, preceded him in death, as well as his son, Randy Nathaniel Rose, his daughter in law, Brenda Rose, his son in law, Doug Hanes, his brother in law, Edwin Conrad, and his sisters, Lucille Easter and Faye Kepley.
He is survived by his son, Harold Rose and wife, Judy, of Lexington; his daughters, Shelia Hanes, Glenna Garner and husband, Steve, and Lydia Rose, all of Lexington; his daughter in law, Lateffa Anne Hedrick Rose; his grandchildren, Michael Rose, Greg Rose, Nathan Rose, Travis Rose, Kristal Rose, Randi Hilman, Charles Garner, Brian Garner, and Taylor Hanes; his great-grandchildren, Breanna Rose, Colton Rose, Carson Rose, Corbin Rose, Gracie Rose Ferguson, Gaven “Luther” Ferguson, and Austin Garner.
