Barbara Crook Atwood

Barbara Crook Atwood, age 73 of Andrew Sink Road, Lexington passed away Friday night (October 15, 2010) at Hinkle Hospice House.  Graveside service will be 3:00 pm Monday (October 18, 2010) at North Lexington Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Gavin Pratt and Dr. Robert Floyd officiating.  Burial will follow in North Lexington Baptist Church Cemetery.   The family will receive friends following the service at the church on Monday and at other times at the home.   Barbara was born in Davidson County, June 3, 1937 to Roby Crook and Opal Michael Crook. She was a retired Medical Secretary with Dr. Robert Team and later with Lexington Primary Care.  She was a member of North Lexington Baptist Church.  Preceded in death by her parents.   Surviving are: husband, Dan A. Atwood of the home; one daughter, Gaye Shipton and husband Jeff of Lexington; one step-son, Rodney Dilts and wife Kirby of Columbia, SC; one granddaughter, Jordan Shipton; two sisters, Linda Warfford of Lexington and Judy York of Stokesdale.   In lieu of flowers memorials should be directed to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC  27292 or to Lexington Health Care, Activities Department, 17 Cornelia Drive, Lexington, NC  27292     Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
