Barbara Bodsford Smith

Barbara Bodsford Smith, age 87, went to be with the LORD on Saturday, May 18, 2024.

A graveside celebration of her life will be held 3:00 pm, Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Pine Grove United Methodist Church, conducted by Pastor Sandra Ireson. The family will receive friends after the service in the Church Narthex.

Barbara was born in Forsyth County to Lindsay O. Bodsford and Garnett Vogler Bodsford on February 1, 1937. She was a homemaker and was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents and husband of 60 years; Rennie Hege Smith Jr., son Spin Smith, and grandson, Joshua Murrell, and great-grandson, Easton Smith.

Surviving are her children; Chris Smith (Sarah), Daphine “Dene” Murrell (Paul), Gary Smith (Alison), Velvet Bowyer (Dennis), Tammy McLean (Mark),  and Jeff Smith (Tammy), 9 grandchildren, Christopher Smith, Lisa Myers, Daniel Smith, Johanna Forkel, Aaron Murrell, Kerri Porras, Justin Leonard, Sierra Bowyer and Denny Bowyer, she was also blessed with 15 great-grandchildren; Micah, Elizabeth, David, Naomi, and Lydia Smith, Haley, and Alyssa Myers, Nash Benedict, Kayden and Savannah Hux, and Khali, Marleigh, and David Leonard, Nick Myers and Landon Walker, sisters; Carolyn Joyner, Janice Foster, Linda Nasser (Charley), Joan Byrd (Ray), Yvonne Ketner (Ken).
