Barbara Christine Chapman

Barbara Christine Tate Chapman, created in God’s image and chosen by God before the foundation of the world, was born on April 24th, 1932 in Williamsville, Vermont.  She was married to Roger Chapman on August 24th, 1952 in Brattleboro, Vermont.  (Roger predeceased her on July 17th, 2012). Barbara passed away and went home with Jesus on Monday, November 11, 2024.

A funeral service to honor Barbara will be held 11:00 AM Monday, November 18, 2024 at Jersey Baptist Church with Dr. Paul Batson and Rev. Bryan Chapman officiation with burial following in the church cemetery.  The family will then visit with friends in the fellowship hall. Barbara will lie in state 4:00 – 5:00 PM Sunday, November 17 at Davidson Funeral Home – Lexington and prior to the service 10:00-10:45 AM at Jersey Baptist Church.

She is survived by her and Roger’s three children; Stephen (Gail) Chapman, Lynn (Rick) Myers, and Bryan (Dot) Chapman.  She is also survived by seven grandchildren; Heather (Chase) Nifong, Amber (Bethany) Myers, Rachel (Corey) Hill, Stephen, Anna, Sarah, and Matthew Chapman, and five great grandchildren; Tyus, Jordynn, Oliver, Elliott, and Ada.  Barbara was a stay at home Mom who fully loved and supported Roger, their children and grandchildren.  She and Roger were very active with their church families, in NJ and NC.  Her passions in life were eating ice cream, traveling, taking pictures and connecting with people by phone calls and writing cards.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County.
