Barbara Wilson Lanning

Barbara Wilson Lanning, loving wife and mother, age 69 of Westdale Avenue, Lexington passed away Sunday afternoon (March 8, 2015) at Forsyth Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday (March 15, 2015) at Second Reformed United Church of Christ with Rev. William Sowers officiating. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Friday night. Barbara was born in Davidson County May 9, 1945 to Grady Eugene Wilson and Virginia Hartwell Wilson. She was a retired Social worker with Brian Center Nursing Home and a member of Second Reformed United Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents. She loved all of her children. Barbara is survived by her husband of 51 years, Stan Lanning of the home; daughter, Jodi Lanning of Lexington; son Michael Scott Lanning and wife Andrea of Mocksville; grandchildren, Summer Tang and husband Jesse and Brittany Lanning; great-grandchildren, Dakota and Maci Owens, Leila Walser and Cole Deel; a brother, Larry Wilson of Lexington; special friends, Linda Buie and son and Brenda Bates and daughter.
