Barbara Lohr Smith

Barbara Lohr Smith, 70 of Brandon Court died Monday, May 26, 2008, at her home after an extended illness of six months. The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, May 29, 2008 at Bethesda United Methodist Church where she was a member with Rev. Doug Hochmuth officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Smith was born in Davidson County on June 12, 1937, to Brantley and Lillie Lohr. She is also preceded in death by her first husband Kearney Lee Koontz, Jr.,four brothers, John Lohr, Bob Lohr and wife Lorraine, Noble Lohr and wife Lucy, and Wade Lohr. Barbara was a retired nurse from Community General Hospital. Surviving is her husband Lorise “Louie” Smith of the home , one daughter, Lori Koontz Greenlee and husband Warren and two grandchildren Taylor and Morgan Greenlee of Catawba, NC. Two brothers, Jerry Lohr and wife Bobbie of Lexington, and Sherman Paul “Speedy” Lohr and wife Joyce of Southmont. Two sisters, Ruby McCarn and husband Leroy and Mary Jo Webb both of Lexington. Two sister-in-laws, Lib Lohr and Mary Elizabeth Lohr. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at the Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel.
