Barbara Steed

Barbara Gayle Everhart Steed, 77, a resident of Lexington, passed away in the early hours of January 23, 2022. Born May 15, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Cleveland Woodrow and Eula Lee Everhart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Willie Edward Steed, Jr. and son Gregory Edward Steed.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 11:00 AM in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Barbara will lie in state at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington on Tuesday afternoon from 3-5PM. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.

Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend with a great passion for her children and grandchildren. She loved her flowers, traveling, and being outdoors.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Donna Michael (Ray) and Kim Young (Mike); grandchildren, Stacey Snider (Ryan), Emily Jackson (Erik), Casey Young (Cassidy), and Chase Young; great-grandchildren, Ryker Snider, Willa Jackson, and Emery Snider. Her brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews were also a special part of her life.

She will be greatly missed by her family and will forever be in their hearts and minds.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Home Instead, Hospice of Davidson County, and a special friend and caregiver who helped in the care of their mother.
