Barbara Walden

Barbara Decker Walden, 87, of Lexington, passed away Friday, November 25, 2022, at her home.

Inurnment will take place 10 AM Friday, December 9, 2022, at Salisbury National Cemetery with Pastor Matthew Sink officiating.

Mrs. Walden was born June 21, 1935, in Toluca, IL., to Charles Decker and Josephine Ann Keedy. She was a member of Pinedale Christian Church; and enjoyed gardening, traveling, baking, and watching her bluebirds and hummingbirds. Barbara loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending family get-togethers. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Loyd Walden.

Left to cherish her memory are three sons, Mike Walden of Lexington, Roger Walden (Sandy) of Clemmons, and Mark Walden (Christine) of Virginia; two daughters, Janet Hudgens (Lee) of Greensboro, and Diane Walden (Daniel) of Lexington; thirteen grandchildren, Bridget, Scott, Anabelle, Wesley, Emmylou, Jake, Brock, Morgan, Nicolas, Matthew, Lucas, Lily, and Lena; and six great-grandchildren, Brody, Tessa, Hank, Poppy, Lydia, and Zoey.
