Mrs. Barbara Bowden Yarbrough, 84, of Lexington, peacefully passed on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. A graveside service will be held at 2pm Tuesday, March 28 at the Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum, by the Revs. Wayne Sechrest and Billy Sink. The family will greet friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service and following the service. Mrs. Yarbrough was born February 5, 1939 in Davidson County to Clifton Hoyle Bowden and Elizabeth Bost Bowden. She met the love of her life, John G. Yarbrough. They married in 1962 and spent 53 years together. Her husband and her parents preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Ted G. (Tad) Yarbrough of Winston Salem and her beloved granddog, Bella. The family would like to thank Linda Blevins for taking care of Mrs. Yarbrough as her caretaker up to the end; to Hinkle Hospice House for helping us through this journey; to Ellen Hampton for your advice on helping my mother,; to Jane Olmsted, where to start, the advice you gave us guided us to a better place for Mom; to Shannon Stanley for singing; to Matthew Clark for his help; to Tina Darnell for her help; and to all the wonderful friends and family for being there for the family as she started on her next chapter in Heaven, Amen.
