Barbara Young

Barbara Jean Floyd Young, 87, passed away Sunday October 5, 2025, at Mountain View Health Park.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Friday October 10, 2025, at Davidson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Friday at Davidson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Young was born June 19, 1938, in Davidson County to Harlan Clifton Floyd and Bessie Gladys Rudd Floyd. Barbara enjoyed cooking and spending time at the beach. She was a member of Bethany Church of Lexington and was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Buddy McCoy Young and a brother, Donnie Floyd. 

Surviving are her two sons, Kent Young (Karen) and Todd Young (Beverly) both of Lexington and her daughter, Susan Swilley (Ronaldo) of Florida; a brother, Clifton Floyd (Trish) of Lexington; 5 grandchildren, Jessica Williams (Chad), Emily Myers, Joseph Young (Katie), Tyler Kirk, and Laura Adams (Chad) and 8 great-grandchildren, Ella Williams, Owen Bowers, Matthew Williams, Jonah Young, Audrey Adams, Eden Young, Clint Adams and Holden Myers.

Memorials can be made to Hospice of Davidson County.
