Born on October 27, 1960, in York, Pennsylvania, Barree was the son of Barree E. Gable and Rosalee M. Gable (Zeigler). He was a man who treasured the simple things in life, and was often cracking a joke or playing a prank, but was best known for his deep love for his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Barree found his greatest joy in the time he spent with those he loved most, cherishing every shared moment and memory.
Barree had a passion for traveling with his wife on his motorcycle, casting a line with friends and family while fishing on the boat, and spending time hunting and watching wildlife. He especially loved traveling with his family, whether it was camping in the mountains or relaxing on the shores of the beach. Those trips were among his most treasured experiences, creating lasting memories that will be held close by his family forever.
He is survived by his father, Barree E. Gable; his beloved wife, Leah Gable (Werking); his daughters, Kristyn Eliason (David Eliason) and Kelly Gable (Michelle Brackin); his cherished grandchildren, Layne Eliason and Lauryn Eliason; and his sisters, Teresa Diven, Beth Barnes, Sherry Gable, and Lisa Smyser.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosalee M. Gable (Zeigler), and his sister, Sharon Gable.
A memorial service to honor Barree’s life will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Becks Reformed Church, starting at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will take place an hour prior to the service, at 10:00 A.M., at the same location.
