Barry Wayne Davis Sept. 7, 1941 – Nov. 2, 2026 “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints” Psalm 116:15.
Barry, 85, was born in Davidson County to the late John Lee Davis and Pauline Carrick Davis. Throughout his life, Barry remained devoted to his Christian faith, as he faithfully served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church. He also attended Piedmont Baptist College, where he furthered his Christian education.
Outside of his faith and family, Barry enjoyed spending time on the golf course, making jokes and bringing laughter to those around him, and watching just about any kind of sport. Barry will be remembered for his faith, his humor, his love for his family, and the many memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him.
In addition to his parents, Barry was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Davis.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 45 years, Cheryl Lowery Davis. He is also survived by his children, Tracy Nifong (Joey), Leigh Anne Hartis (Mark), Chris Albright (Kim), and Kim Teeter (Stuart); his grandchildren, Josh, Audrey, Jarrett, Tanner, Nicholas, Noah, and Taylor; and his great-grandchildren, Harper, Bowen, Lawson, Gunner, and Dixie. He is further survived by his brother, Mark Davis (Kim), and his sister-in-law, Connie Davis, along with numerous extended family members and dear friends.
A memorial service celebrating Barry's life will be held on Friday, November 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. located at Davidson Funeral Home of Winston Salem. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m., at the same location.
Barry's life was a testament to his faith, his love for his family, and the importance of finding joy and laughter along the way. The legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories he leaves behind will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
