Baxter Boaze Hanes

Baxter  Boaze Hanes, 70, of Shady Hanes Road, died Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at his home.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Good Hope United Methodist Church with Rev. Joseph Fulk III conducting services. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.

Mr. Baxter was born in Davidson County on March 1, 1949 to Shady Hanes and Wilma Truely Walser Hanes. He was owner and operator of Baxter Hanes Masonary, as well as a farmer, and a member of The Spencer Moose Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister JoAnne Leonard.

Surviving is his fiancé of 30 years,  Carolyn Clodfelter of Lexington; two brothers, Wesley Hanes (Linda)  and Raeford Hanes both of Lexington; four sisters, Martha Stephens (Barry), Charlotte Massengill, Darlyn Killian ( Joe) all of Lexington and Frances Cole  of Ohio; and one Honoary Grandson, Junior Rowe.
