Buford “Bea” Naomi Findling Kessler, known to her family and friends as “ Bea”, was born in Huntington, West VA on July 26, 1926 and has passed into the presence of Jesus on January 2, 2011 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Bea grew up in Coolville, Ohio and has been a resident of Winston Salem since 1949. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, John A. Kessler, “ Jack”. Preceding her in death were her parents, Oscar David Findling and Maggie Bentz Findling, and her sister, Josephine Findling Daughtery. After Bea retired from Forsyth Memorial Hospital with 43 years of service, working as a devoted and nurturing RN, she continued using her skills by volunteering in the ER for 13 years. She joined Friedberg Moravian Church in 1971 and loved singing in the choir. Bea enjoyed all of nature especially her birds and flowers.
She is survived by her loving family of a daughter, Jennifer Kessler Craver and husband, Steve, of Rural Hall; a son, John Findling Kessler and wife Carol, of Pinnacle; five grandchildren, Brian Kessler, Matthew Craver, John Jordan Kessler, Julie Cooke, and Rebecca Craver; six great grandchildren, and many close friends and a special caregiver, all of whom she loved dearly. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Friedberg Moravian Church followed by a visitation, 2178 Friedberg Church Road, Winston Salem, NC 27127.
