Beatrice "Bea" Benson Jenkins

Beatrice “Bea” Benson Jenkins, 89, of Robbins Circle, died Saturday April 2, 2016 at The Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday at Arrington Heights Freewill Baptist Church where she was a member, with Rev. Doug McGee and Rev.James Messer officiating services. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford “Sonny” William Jenkins; two brothers, Cornelius Benson and Dwight Benson; a sister, Ileen Ballew and a son-in-law Richard Adams. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel Mrs. Jenkins was born November 24, 1926 in Gaston County to James Cornelius Benson and Ellie Sutton Benson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at her church. Surviving is one son, Larry Jenkins and wife LouAnn of Lexington; four daughters, Paulette Adams, Patty Palmer and husband Mike, Barbara Frizzell and husband Tim all of Lexington, and Dorothy Barnes and husband Jerel of Florence SC; one sister, Dorothy Walser of Lexington; thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren.
