Beatrice Gates Flowers

Beatrice Gates Flowers, age 94 of Carolina House, formerly of Welcome passed away Saturday morning at Hinkle Hospice House, Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Welcome with Rev. Mark Blair officiating and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Monday and at other times at their respective homes. Beatrice was born in Orange County, NC August 29, 1920 to Jim and Ada Crabtree Gates. She was a former employee of Bullock Hosiery Mill and had been a member of First Baptist in Welcome since 1955. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin Junior Flowers; two sons, Donald and Ronnie Flowers; a daughter, Betty Jo Flowers; eight brothers and five sisters. Surviving are daughters, Melba Jean Carrick (Larry), Linda Kay Worley (Roger) all of Lexington; sons, James Flowers (Nell) of Haughton, LA and Larry Flowers of Welcome; fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Charlene Flowers of Lexington.
