Becky Bennett

October 14, 1949 — August 9, 2022

Becky Ree Craver Bennett, 72 of Lexington, NC passed away Tuesday August 9, 2022 at her home after a 7 year fight with cancer. Becky was born in Davidson County on October 14, 1949 to the late Julius Columbus Craver and Frances Milan Craver.

Becky worked for Lexington Furniture until her retirement. She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church in Lexington, NC. She was an extraordinary cook and baker. She made sure that everyone always felt welcome the moment they stepped foot into her home, and she was more than happy to feed you. You could always taste the love in her food. That being said, if you left hungry, that was your own doing. Among her many talents and hobbies she was an amazing seamstress, she painted beautiful ceramics, and could do just about anything she set her mind to. She was the most loving and caring person and always put others first. She would never forget a birthday, and she would make sure it was special for each and every one of her loved ones. Christmas time was especially her favorite, as she would put all of her energy and love into decorating, baking, and wrapping the most beautiful presents in an effort to ensure it was truly the most magical time of year for everyone she loved. She was more than just the matriarch of her family; she was the heart, soul, and glue that brought and kept everyone together, and will continue doing so in spirit.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest “Glenn” Bennett, and brother, Daniel Craver.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Pamela Ann Bennett Walters of Lexington; grandchildren Amber, Ashly, Julian (Pa), Gabby (David), Leonta, Ava, and William; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Tanner, Tyler, Talan, Emily, Makayla, Devon, Ava, David, Dallas, and Julius; sister, Darlene Craver Chaffin of Lexington; brother, Julius Ray Craver of Lexington; nieces, Chrissy, Wendy (Jeff), and Lori (Benji); nephews, Tracy, Barry (Jan), and Marty (Shannon); great-nieces, Meagan (Joseph), and Katelyn (Joey); great-nephews, Ryan, Killian, Jacob, Tyler, and Noah; and longtime friends, Bobbie, Mildred, and Rita.
