Bennie K. Ward

Saturday, May 2nd, 2026, Bennie K. Ward departed this earth. Born in Lexington, NC to the late G.J. Ward and Vaudie M. Ward. Preceding him in death were two grandsons, 10-month-old Raleigh Ward and five-year-old Jeffrey Ward. Also, preceding him were two brothers Charles F. Ward and Terry J. Ward and one sister, Jane W. Decker.

Born and raised on a farm and loved the outdoors. Bennie was a graduate of Central Davidson High School. He operated a dairy until 1987 and then opened his Insurance Business while still raising beef cows. Following the love of outdoors for years, he had a Men’s slow pitch softball team. Bennie also was an avid deer hunter. While he loved his family dearly and very proud of them, he was happy outdoors. When grandkids came along and became old enough to play sports, he loved watching them play softball, track, golf or baseball.

Left to Cherish all the memories are his wife Vivian G. Ward, two sons Bennie Ward, Jr. and wife Pamela, Steven Ward and wife DeLane all of Lexington. He had four grandchildren that were dear to his heart, Kylie Ward (fiancé, Nathan), Makayla Ward (Sean), Salem Ward (Koby), Carson Ward. Three surviving sisters; Doris W. Everhart of Thomasville, NC, Peggy W. May of Lexington, NC, Polly W. Nance of Boise, Idaho, several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 Monday, May 11, 2026 at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Burial following in New Jerusalem Reformed Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home 5:00 - 7:00 Sunday, May 10 th, 2026.
