Benny Coleman

Benny Ray Coleman, 64, of Thomasville went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 30, 2022, at the Hinkle Hospice House.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, February 3, 2022, in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Frankie Matthews officiating. Burial will follow in the Pilgrim Reformed Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 pm until 2 pm prior to the service.

Mr. Coleman was born in Davidson County on January 4, 1958, to M.C. “Sam” Coleman and Lillie “Marie” Hayes Fritts. He was a retired stockroom manager, having worked for AT&T and was a member of Sheets Memorial Baptist Church. Mr. Coleman was an avid fisher and a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather whose memory will be cherished forevermore. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Janet Everhart Coleman; his daughter, Jessica Coleman Poteat (Steven); his stepfather, Amos Fritts; two sisters, Donna Grubb (Mike), and Sharon Mixon (Wesley); a grandson, Wyatt Poteat; a brother-in-law, P. Alan Everhart; a sister-in-law, Eve Sink (Marty); and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
