Benny Wade McCrary

Benny Wade McCrary, 76, passed away January 20, 2026, at his home.

Visitation will be held 4:00 to 6:00 PM, on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington and family will see friends at other times at Shirley Darr's home.

Graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. at National Cemetery located at 202 Government Rd, Salisbury, NC 28144 with Rev. Don Clements officiating. 

Benny was born January 5, 1950, in Davidson County to the late James Bert “JB” and Zelma Mock McCrary. He proudly served in the US Army and then went to work at PPG and attended Friendship Church. He loved fishing and hunting.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Barbara Phillips McCrary; his brother, Greg McCrary (Billie); sisters, Shirley Darr (Chuck), Judy Outen (Joe), Donna Weisner (Jerry), and Tammy Bridges (Albie), several nieces and nephews, and his special pet, Pumpkin.

Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Davidson County.
