Bernard Talmadge Beverly of Winston-Salem passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center.
Bernard was born February 26, 1937 in Clintood, VA to Ferdie Stratton Beverly and Amma Davis Beverly. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Lexington, NC. He served in the US Air Force as a medic during the Korean War. He served as missionary with the Association of Baptist for World Evangelism in the Philippines and other fields. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Estle Beverly, Kyle Beverly and Connie Beverly.
Surviving is his wife, Virginia Carole Coffman Beverly of the home; sons, David Edward Beverly (Loralee) of Winston-Salem , Brian Talmadge Beverly (Debra) of King; Jeffery Michael Beverly (Wendy Marie) of Lexington; grandchildren, Bethany, Brandon, Benjamin, Brian, Rachel, Nicole, David Jr., Megan, Sean, Emily, Sarah, and Michael; brother, Teddy Beverly (Elaine) of Warrenton, VA; sisters, Ila Stanley of Claremont, VA, Maxine Powers (Bernard) of Unionville, VA, Kitty Damer (Darrel) of Front Royal, VA.
A visitation will be held Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Union Grove Baptist Church, Lexington, NC with Pastor Ken Harris, Rev. David Beverly, Rev. Brian Beverly and Rev. Jeff Beverly officiating. Entombment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum with Military Honors.
Memorials may be made to Union Grove Baptist Church Missions Fund, 2295 Union Grove Rd., Lexington, NC 27295. The gifts will be used for church planting in the Philippines.
