Bernard "Bud" Lafferty

Bernard “Bud” Lafferty, age 96 of Homestead Drive, Lexington passed away Thursday at Piedmont Crossing in Thomasville. A memorial graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday (July 10, 2014) at Grace Missionary Alliance Church Cemetery with Pastor Richard Barker officiating. Inurment will follow. Bud was born in Freedom, PA on December 21, 1917. He was a self-employed Mobile Home Park Owner; a member of Grace Alliance Missionary Church and a veteran of the US Army having served during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia Nichols Lafferty in 2005. Surviving are his wife, Nellie Coggins Lafferty of Alston Brook Nursing Home; niece, Maureen Coggins (Edward) of Thomasville; nephew, Randy Coggins of Thomasville; step-grandson, Joey King (Myra) of Thomasville; brother-in-law, Barry Nichols (Wilma) of West Virginia and his canine companions, Blackie, Blondie and Daisy.
