Albert "Bert" Berkley Milam, 84, of Jackson Boulevard, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015, at his home after a sudden illness.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Doug McGee.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Mr. Milam was born July 11, 1930, in Rockingham County to Albert Johnson Milam and Rebecca Monkus Milam. He was retired from Henry Link Furniture and a member of Arrington Heights Freewill Baptist Church where he formerly served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Homer Lee Milam; and sister Frances Craver.
Surviving are his loving wife of 66 years, Janie Carter Milam of the home; son James Milam of Lexington; daughter Mildred Hill (Terry) of Lexington; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters Nannie Perdue and Myrtle Loman, both of Lexington.
