Bertha King Lankford

Bertha King Lankford, 95, of Pinetop Road, died Wednesday morning, April 11, 2007, at Brian Center. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, by the Rev. David Robinson. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Lankford was born April 6, 1912, to John E. King and Annie Lee Long King. She was a retired seamstress from Manhattan Shirt, of the Baptist faith and attended Madison Heights Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Palmer Lankford, who died July 17, 1966; one son, Curtis Lee Lankford; two daughters, Thelma Lankford and Betty Ann Everhart; and several brothers and sisters. Surviving are one son, Bobby Dean Lankford and his wife, Joan, of Linwood; one daughter, Doris Lee Robinson of Lexington; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and other times at the home.
