Mrs. Bertha Honeycutt Peterson, 88, of Swearing Creek Dr, Lexington, died Sunday, September 30, 2007 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem after a sudden illness.
The funeral service will be held at 7:30 PM Monday, October 1 at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Roy Queen and music by Rev. Joel Smith. A graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at the Peterson Family Cemetery on Poplar Creek Road, Spruce Pine, conducted by Rev. Tommy Carter.
Mrs. Peterson was born August 23, 1919 in Spindelle, NC to Sidney Honeycutt and Sarah Arrowood Honeycutt. She was a homemaker and a member of Poplar Creek Baptist Church in Poplar, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Neal Peterson; a son, Audie Peterson; a daughter, Louise Justice; five brothers, and one sister.
Surviving are her sons: S. J. Peterson of Poplar, Glen Peterson, and his wife, Sue of Rosville, GA, and Dallas Peterson and wife, Brenda, of Greenville, SC; a daughter, Kathern Peterson Dunning, of Lexington; a daughter in law, Glenda Peterson of Poplar; 17 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 PM Monday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.
