Betsy Butts

Betty Stokes “Betsy” Butts, 86, of NC Hwy 150 in Lexington died Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at her home. The family will hold a private service. A public memorial service for Mr. and Mrs. Butts will be held at a later date. Mrs. Butts was born November 9, 1933 in Stokes County to Bernard Clarence Stokes and Bertha Newsom Stokes. She was a graduate of Denton High School and a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. Mrs. Butts spent 20+years in education, and retired from Davidson County Schools. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Ray Butts, who died on March 15, 2020. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Len Butts (Jo Ellen) of Denton, and Bill Butts (Misti) of Welcome; her daughter, Jane Thomas of Lexington; her grandchildren, John Robert Blake, Mary Quick, Thomas Blake, Jake Butts, Joe Butts, and Addie Thomas; and four great-grandchildren.
