Betsy Stoner Guest

Betsy Stoner Guest 78 of Kildee Drive, Lexington died Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at her home. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Grace Episcopal Church Chapel with the Revs. Bonnie Duckworth and Dr. Fred Horton officiating. A private inurnment will be held at Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm Sunday in the Commons Room at Grace Episcopal Church. Mrs. Guest was born December 29, 1932, in Davidson County, to Paul G. Stoner, Sr. and Ruth Bright Stoner. She was the former Head Mistress of the Holy Trinity Episcopal School in Greensboro, and retired from the Davidson County School System. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, and served on the Board of Directors for Smart Start. Surviving are a daughter, Betsy Bright Guest Moon and husband, Kenneth, of Lexington; three grandchildren, Sgt., Joseph Moon of the US Marines Corps, Emily Elizabeth Moon and Pvt. First Class Matthew Moon of US Marine Corp; two great grandchildren, Bradley Moon, Lydia Moon; two brothers, Paul G. Stoner, Jr. and Frank L. Stoner and wife, Judy, all of Lexington; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Childrens Home Society of NC, 1002 Yanceyville St., Greensboro, NC 27405
