Mrs. Betty Peters Albert, 93, formerly of Country Club Blvd, died Friday, April 28 at Piedmont Crossing in Thomasville.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 3 at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, by the Rev. Mason Todd. A private burial will be held at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends immediately after the service.
Mrs. Albert was born February 15, 1930 in Staunton, VA to Forrest O. and Hattie Thurber Peters. She was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church where she was active as long as her health allowed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Forrest Peters , Jr. , sister-in law, Lillian, and one step sister, Margaret Sweet.
She is survived by her husband, Irvin W. Albert, Jr.; her son, Michael Albert (Faith) of Lexington; her grandchildren, Marcus Albert (Caroline) and Andrew Hamlin (Elizabeth) , and her great-grandchildren, Easton Albert, and Katherine, Warren, and Weldon Hamli n and one special nephew Donald Trobaugh (Linda) and son Thomas.
Betty treasured her role as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an accomplished bridge player and value d the time she spent with her bridge partners as well as her tennis partners . Betty enjoyed traveling, especially the girl ’ s trip to the beach . She and Irvin were avid Carolina fan s and seldom missed a football or basketball game with their friends.
