Betty Lou Huffman Byerly, 73, a resident of Lexington, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022. She was born in Davie County on March 2, 1949 to the late James Monroe and Josephine Draughn Huffman. On March 26, 1966 she married Forrest Eugene Byerly. For the last 27 years, Betty and Forrest ran the Gulf Station and Convenience Store at the corner of West Center Street Ext. in Lexington, which they own. Betty loved her family immensely, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be conducted Monday, June 13, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington. There will not be a formal visitation. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to Davidson County First Hope Ministries, 107 E 1 st Ave. #3335, Lexington 27292.
Betty is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Forrest Byerly of the home; sons, Michael, and Barry Byerly of Lexington; granddaughters, Mackenzi and Montgomeri Byerly; brothers, Allen Huffman (Rita), and Steve Huffman (Jeanie) all of Lexington; sisters, Judy Boles (Donnie) of Mocksville and Pat Hawks of Reidsville; and several nieces and nephews.
