Betty Callicutt

Betty Westley Bell Callicutt, 84, of Lexington, died peacefully in her home on September 20, 2018.   The family will hold an intimate memorial service at a later date.    Betty was the youngest daughter of the late Romie Lynn and Nora Smith Bell. Her sister, Audrey Bell Newnan, and her brothers, Gordon and Leon Bell have all passed on before her. Betty was born in Greensboro, NC, and attended High Point College. She moved to Lexington in 1960 and considered it her home. Also preceding her in death were her husband Bob Callicutt and their infant son, Bobby Ray Callicutt, Jr.   Betty is survived by two daughters, Ann and Cathy Callicutt, seven grandchildren, Frank (Beth) Callicutt, Abbie Callicutt Blackerby, Elliott and Jane Motlow, and Patrick, Cameron, and Payton Scott. Betty also leaves behind five great grandchildren, Mary Lloyd, Annabell, and Abbie Callicutt, and Liam and Charlie Blackerby.   She shared with all of us her gentle spirit, her love of the beach, and her green thumb, and if you told her you loved her, she always made sure you knew she loved you more.
