Betty Ruth Conrad

Betty Ruth Conrad, age 86, of Brookstone Retirement Center, formerly of East Holly Grove Road, Lexington passed away Sunday morning, July 22, 2012 at Hinkle Hospice House. Graveside service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Holly Grove Lutheran Church Cemetery with Rev. Chris Bitterman officiating.   Betty Ruth was born in Davidson County, June 14, 1926 to Ralph Conrad and Mabel Cecil Conrad. Betty was a graduate of Ashmore Business College and Emmanus Bible School. After graduating from Bible College she worked for Literary Crusade in Prospect Heights, Ill. She moved back to Lexington and worked for R.B. Smith Attorney until retirement; worked as secretary at Holly Grove Lutheran Church and worked for her brother Sonny at the BBQ Center. She was a member of Meadowview Reformed Presbyterian Church; and was preceded in death by her parents.   Surviving are; sisters, Jean Gosnell of Lexington, Sarah C. Barnes and husband Charles of Canyon Lake, TX; brother, Sonny Conrad and wife Nancy of Lexington; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson county, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292; Meadowview Reformed Presbyterian Church, One Grace Way, Lexington, NC  27295 or to donor’s choice.     Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
