Betty Darr

Betty Lou Lawrence Darr, 89, of Lexington passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at Brookdale of Lexington.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church in Lexington with the Rev. Doug Rowe officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Darr was born in Surry County, NC on February 16, 1930 to Mr. & Mrs. John William Lawrence. She was a retired nurse, having worked for Dr. Richard Morgan and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Darr was a loving mother and grandmother whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Vernon Darr, Sr.; and her son, Andrew Vernon “Andy” Darr, Jr.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving daughters, Andrea Darr of Winston Salem and Anda Darr Pressley of Lexington; four grandchildren, Melissa, Andrew, Megan and Adam; and two great-grandchildren, Ava Grace and Alden.

Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice in honor of Mrs. Darr.
