Betty Carol Everhart Fowler, 71, of Alston Brook Care and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Gandy Lane, died Sunday, March 21, 2010, at Alston Brook. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Christian Baptist Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. Sam Harvey. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Mrs. Fowler was born March 25, 1938, in Davidson County to Emmanuel Lafeyette Everhart and Mary Fritts Everhart. She was retired from Lucia, Winston-Salem. Surviving are her husband, James Hubert Fowler, of the home; special friends, the Rev. Sam Harvey and wife Beverly, and their children, Sam, David, Eric, and Ami; her sisters, Sylvia Baugus, Linda Mecimore, both of Lexington, and Jean Meredith of High Point; and brothers, Ray Von Everhart of Lexington and Jerry E. Everhart of South Carolina. Memorials may be made to Christian Baptist Church, 11874 N.C. Highway 150, Lexington, NC 27295.
