Betty Morgan Gobble

July 8, 1932 — February 12, 2021

Betty Morgan Gobble, 88, of Wayne Gobble Road in Linwood departed peacefully from this life on February 12, 2021 and now is resting in the everlasting arms of her Saviour.

A memorial service for friends and family will be held 3:00 pm Sunday February 21, 2021, at Psalm 91 Church, Michael Road, Lexington and visitation will follow.

A private graveside service will be held with Rev. Max Shoaf and Rev. Del Grim officiating services.

Mrs. Gobble was born July 8, 1932 in Stanley County to David Early Morgan and Polly Lilly Anna Whitley. She attended Lexington High School and received her GED from Davidson County Community College. Family was very important and she spent most of her time with them.  At other times she enjoyed sewing, flower arranging and attending church activities at Psalm 91, where she was a member.  She and her husband, who she married February 24, 1951, donated the sign in front of the church. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, George Wayne Gobble and eight siblings.

Surviving are two sons; Gary Gobble (wife, Ann) of Lexington and Larry Gobble (wife, Kathy) of Georgia; one daughter, Teresa Ashby (husband, David) of Lexington; one brother, David Morgan of Tennessee; a sister-in-law, Helen Rogers of Lexington; 8 grandchildren Jason Ashby (wife, Elissa), Julie Beane (husband, Jason), Jeremy Gobble, Nick Gobble, Heidi Priest (husband, Aaron), Elias Gobble (wife, Lauren), Lael Gobble, and Larra Gobble; and 8 great-grandchildren Travis Ashby, Caleb Beane, Madison Beane, Chason Gobble, Elsie Gobble, Abner Priest, Elijah Priest and Abigal Priest.
