Betty Jean Hall

July 7, 1934 — January 27, 2020

Betty Jean Swicegood Hall, 85, of Midway, affectionately known by her family as “Beanie” passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel from 6:00-8:00 PM.

The funeral will be held Friday, January 31, 2020 at 2:00 PM, at Midway United Methodist Church in the sanctuary, officiated by the Reverends Chuck Ireson and Jeff Vogler.

Betty was born July 7, 1934 to Grady and Lencie Craver Swicegood in Midway.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wilburn and Coy; sisters, Geneva, Naomi, Vada and Edna.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-seven years, Jimmy Hall; one son, Gary (Sharon) Hall; one daughter, Tammy (Mike) Vogler; Four grandchildren, Jessica Hall, Jonathan Hall, Alex (Courtney) Vogler and Andy Vogler; and one great-granddaughter, Blakely Vogler.

Mrs. Hall worked at Western Electric and held various jobs within Davidson County, in church, civics and politics. She was a member of the Village Garden Club since 1960, where she served on the governor’s beautification projects, and received many awards for her service in the North Davidson area. She served her church, Midway United Methodist in various capacities and was the first lay leader and president of the United Methodist Women. Betty also organized the first brownie troop at her church.

She loved her family very much and always made sure they were taken care of first.

Davidson Funeral Home-Hickory Tree Chapel is serving the Hall family.
