Betty Mae Hammonds

Betty Mae Yarbrough Hammonds, 84, a resident of Lexington, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2022, in Hinkle Hospice Home. Betty was born in Davidson County on March 19, 1938, to the late Wade Pinkney and Evelyn Wallace Yarbrough. Betty retired at 70 years old from Carolina Castings in High Point. She was a loving mother who worked hard to ensure her daughter had everything she could ever need. Betty was very active, she enjoyed yard work, and tending to her flower beds. She also enjoyed crafting and painting. She attended Jersey Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Hobart and Homer Yarbrough.

A memorial graveside service will be held at Forest Hill Memorial Park on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 11:00 AM.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Deborah “Debbie” Everhart (Terry) of Lexington and her Linwood High School classmates from the class of 1956.
