Mrs. Betty Scott Hinkle of Welcome went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Hinkle Hospice House in Davidson County.
A celebration and memorial service of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Welcome with Pastor Mark Blair officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 9:30 am, prior to the service:
Betty was born on September 16, 1936 in Forsyth County, the daughter of the late Cable Scott and Beulah Ashby Scott. She was a retired employee of Hanesbrands in Winston-Salem, N.C. Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church of Welcome. She loved teaching children about the life of Jesus and taught Sunday School there for over twenty years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Scott Tuttle of Winston-Salem and a brother James (Buddy) Scott of Jamestown.
Betty loved her family and leaves behind many precious memories to her loving husband of 59 years, James (Jim) Hinkle of the home; daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Danny Smith; granddaughter, Brooke Motsinger and husband Chad Motsinger of Midway; her grandson Jordan Smith and his girlfriend Shaena Waggoner and daughter Tatum Waggoner of Welcome; great-grandson’s, Sylar James Motsinger and Harrison Gray Motsinger.
Flowers are welcome. Memorials may be made in Betty’s memory to Hinkle Hospice House, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
