Betty Jean Benson

Betty Jean Phillips Benson, 70, of New Jersey Church Road, died Saturday, April 1 at Lexington Health Care.   A memorial service will be held at 5pm Thursday at Psalm 91 Church, by the Revs. Max Shoaf and Lin Story-Bunce.   The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter.   Mrs. Benson was born November 27, 1946 in Davidson County to Hoyle Lee Phillips and Bertha Fine Phillips.  She retired from Link-Taylor and was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Marshall Benson, Sr. and her brother, Henry Phillips.    She is survived by her son, Roy Benson, Jr. of Lexington; her daughter, Angela Swiney and and husband, Russell, of Lexington; her sister, Linda Elliott and husband, Gene, of Lexington; her grandchildren, Chris Edmondson, Jr., Amanda Fortune, Brandon Edmondson, Briana Benson, and Kobe Benson; and twelve great-grandchildren.
