Betty Jean Cody Leonard

Betty Jean Cody Leonard, 71 of Ravenwood Lane, died Saturday, June 16, 2007 at High Point Regional Hospital. She currently made her home with her brother-in-law Delmar J. Leonard. A funeral service will be held at 11am Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating, and burial to follow in the New Jerusalem United Church of Christ cemetery. Mrs. Leonard was born on February 27, 1936 in Davidson County to Marshall Cody and Ethel Hill Cody. She was of the Baptist faith and worked as a plant manager with Lexington Abrasive Belts. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband David Samuel Leonard. She is survived by two sons David ( Sam) Leonard, Jr. and wife Joann and Dwight “Johnny” Leonard and wife Tina, all of Lexington; a daughter Nancy L. Rummage and husband Randy of Lexington; grandchildren Chad Rummage, Scott Leonard, Tina Leonard and Blake Leonard; brothers Ricky Cody and wife Kathy, Robert Cody and wife Debbie, Tommy Cody and wife Emma, Wayne Cody and wife Phyllis, all of Denton and Joe Cody and wife Judy of Arkansas; sisters Joyce Harrison and husband Larry, Mary Louise Cody and Onie Swayney and husband Robert, all of Denton. The family will receive friends tonight (Monday) from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Davidson Funeral Home – Lexington Chapel and other times at the home.
