Betty Jean Walser Lumsdon, 78, of Dykers Creek Drive, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center after 31/2 years of declining health.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, by the Rev. Carroll C. Lupton Jr. Burial will be in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mrs. Lumsdon was born in Aug. 8, 1928, in Davidson County to Grady Walser and Elsie Myers Walser. She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church and a member of the Kitchen Gang. Mrs. Lumsdon was an avid quilter. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Dale Walser and Jerry Walser, and a sister, Doris Harrison.
Surviving are her husband, Richard Lumsdon of the home; a daughter, Denise Black and her husband, Ronnie, of Lexington; a granddaughter, Courtney Black of Lexington; three brothers, Allen Walser and Lindsey Walser and his wife, Bonnie, all of Lexington, and Ronald Walser and his wife, Linda, of Monroe; two sisters, Jewell Dorsett and Peggy Walser, both of Lexington; and her special companion, Chase.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Thursday at the funeral home and other times at the home of the daughter at 733 Burkhart Road.
