Betty Jean Wilson Parnell

Betty Jean Wilson Parnell, age 89 of Abbotts Creek, formerly of Hannah Ferry Road, Churchland passed away at Abbotts Creek Thursday night June 2, 2016. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, June 6, 2016 at Tyro United Methodist Church with Revs. Randy Foster and Jerry Wilkes officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Sunday night and at other times at the home. Betty was born in Davidson County January 9, 1927 to Webb Wilson and Ora Michael Wilson. She was a homemaker and a member of Tyro United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank Parnell in 2008; daughter-in-law, Kathey Parnell; sister and brother-in-law, Mavis and George Barnhill, a brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Boots Wilson, a brother, Calvin Wilson, sister-in-law, Ellen Parnell; brother-in-laws, Otis Phillips and Terry Wiseman Parnell. Surviving are her daughters; Nancy Swicegood and Amy Freeman (Tim) all of Churchland; son, Terry Parnell of Churchland; grandchildren, Craig Swicegood (Kate), Michael Swicegood (Melissa), Joey Freeman, Justin Freeman, Johnna Lanning (Dennis), Amber Warren (Micah) and BreeAnn Cook (Joe); great-grandchildren, Cole, Lilly-Anne, Maxwell, James, Daniel, Eva, Luke and Ethan; brother-in-law, Doug Parnell, sister-in-laws, Carolyn Phillips and Sarah Philpot and husband Larry.
