Betty George Jordan, 80, of Woodberry Drive, died Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Hinkle Hospice House after declining health.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by the Revs. Dr. Charles R. Yarborough, Jr. and Don Esinger. Burial will follow at Stoner’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home on Woodberry Drive, Lexington.
Mrs. Jordan was born October 12, 1931, in Stokes County to William Manuel George and Becky Jane Tuttle George. She was retired from Henry Link Furniture and was a member of Christ Reformed United Church of Christ. Her first husband Guy Biesecker and second husband, Ralph Jordan, preceded her in death, as well as her brothers, Frank George, Rob George, Henry George, Ed George, and Hasten George; and her sisters Beulah Reid and Irene Mahala.
Surviving are her daughters, LuCinda Thompson and husband, Danny, Debbie Scates and husband, Roy, and Lisa Hilliard and husband, Wayne, all of Lexington; her grandchildren, Chris Scates and wife, Rena, Jamie Koontz and husband, Chris, Amanda Thompson, and Maria Jane Hilliard; great grandchildren, Zoie Ryan Scates, and Hunter Chayse Koontz; and her brother, Eugene George of Lexington; and her sister, Becky Lookabill and husband, Lloyd, of Lexington.
