Betty Carolyn Everhart Knopf age 71 of Lexington Passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home with family by her side. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Friedberg Moravian Church with Revs. Dan Nelson and Jimmy Newsom. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday night at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel and other times at the home of Steve & Linda Everhart. Betty was born October 11, 1943 in Davidson County to Walter David Everhart and Ruby Payne Everhart. She was retired with Medical Park Hospital and loved her church family of Friedberg Moravian Church where she a member. Betty enjoyed life with crafts, gardening and sewing. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Eugene Eskridge and William “ Bill “ Knopf. Surviving are her sons, Richard Eskridge ( Donna ) of Kernersville, Mark Eskridge ( Claudia ) of Winston Salem, daughters, Donna Palmer and Debra Heyneker of Winston Salem, brother, Steve Everhart ( Linda ) of Lexington, sisters, Patsy Ledford ( David ) of Whitter, NC and Joan Bailey ( Freddie ) of Bryson City, NC, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild, special friend, Kenneth Sink and her precious k-9 friend “ Peaches “. The family would like memorials sent to: Friedberg Moravian Church 2178 Friedberg Church Rd. Winston Salem, NC 27127. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
