Betty Lou Martin Link, 67, of Skylark Lane, Linwood died Monday, January 20, 2014 at Wake Forest Baptist Health Lexington Medical Center after declining health. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday Jan. 24, 2014 at Near Calvary Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Walser officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014 at the church and other times at the home. Mrs. Link was born September 13, 1946 in Forsyth County to James Monroe Martin and Wilma Goins Martin. She had been employed with Parkdale Mills and was a member of Near Calvary Freewill Baptist Church. Surviving are husband, Paul David Link, Jr. of the home; two sons, Joe Smith (Teresa) of Lexington, Kerry Smith of Gary, WV; a daughter, Tammy Phillips (Micky) of Lexington; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; four brothers, James Martin of Mena, AK, Johnny Martin of Loris, SC, Horace Martin of Trinity, NC, Ronald Martin of Lexington, NC; two sisters, Frances Palmer and Nancy Little both of Lexington, NC Memorials may be directed to Susan K.
