Betty Mccarn Harvey

Betty Ann McCarn Harvey, 74, of Greensboro Street Extension, died Monday, July 17, 2006, at Brian Center of Lexington. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Beck's United Church of Christ, where she was a member, by the Rev. Gerald Sanders. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Harvey was born Nov. 2, 1931, in Davidson County to Clay McCarn and Zebbie Freedle McCarn. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her brothers, Bruce McCarn and Charles McCarn, and her sister, Patsy Barnhill. Surviving are her husband, Reid Woodrow Harvey Sr. of the home; one son, Reid Woodrow "Woody" Harvey Jr. and Carol Ray of Lexington; two daughters, Glenda Harvey Everhart and her husband, Larry, and Sherrie Harvey Smith and her husband, Chris, all of Lexington; four grandchildren, Keri Smith, Cole Smith, Michael Everhart and his wife, Tracey, and Chris Everhart and his wife, Heather; three great-grandchildren, Meghan Everhart, Lauren Everhart and Dylan Everhart; and three sisters, Peggy Ingram and Louise Barnhill, both of Lexington, and Carmelita Richardson of Asheboro. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, P.O. Box 1941, Lexington NC 21293.
