August 31, 1932 — November 17, 2020

Betty Jean Kinney Nixon, 88, of Lexington went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Mallard Ridge Assisted Living in Clemmons.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Friday, November 27, 2020 at Forest Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Brian Rummage officiating. Due to the covid-19 pandemic, attendees are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Mrs. Nixon was born in Davidson County on August 31, 1932 to Eddie Collis Kinney and Gladys Fannie Leonard Kinney. She was a seamstress and the owner/operator of Lexington Sewing Shop. Mrs. Nixon was a lifelong member of New Hope Presbyterian Church, formerly Second Presbyterian Church and was a loving mother and grandmother whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Green Nixon; a grandson, Sean Williamson; a brother, Bill Kinney; and three sisters, Jerri Streetman, Joy Beasley, and Ollie Owens.

Those left to cherish her memory include, two sons, Loyd “Buddy” Stegall and Kinney Stegall both of Lexington; four daughters, Jean “Trigger” Williamson (Jay) of Denton, Sonja Roach (Donald) of Lexington, Bonnie Crabtree (Ray) of Taylors, SC and Tazra Stegall (Mike Wigal) of Haw River, NC; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
