Betty Mccrary Parrott

Betty McCrary Parrott, 81, of Duke Drive, died Friday, December 14, 2007, at Lexington Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Grace Episcopal Church, 419 S. Main Street, Lexington, where she was a lifelong member, by the Rev. Dr. Tom King. A private burial will be in the Lexington City Cemetery. Mrs. Parrott was born September 15, 1926, in Davidson County to John Alexander McCrary and Katherine Kale McCrary. She was a 1943 graduate of Lexington Senior High School and also graduated from Greensboro College. She taught at Lexington Middle School for 33 years and was a member of the Charity League. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Edward Parrott, and her brother, John A. McCrary Jr. Surviving are her sons, Ed Parrott and his wife, Marcia, of Salisbury, Mac Parrott and his wife, Beth, of Lexington, and Jake Parrott and his wife, Carole, of Salisbury; nine grandchildren: Ashley Dunham and husband, Brian, Stephen Parrott and wife, Sarah, Daniel Parrott and wife, Kylie, Elizabeth Shive and husband, Daniel, Katherine Farless and husband, Graham, Lauren Parrott, Caroline Parrott, Carsyn Parrott, and Harrison Parrott; and three great grandchildren: Ben and Davis Parrott and Margaret Dunham. The family will receive friends following the service at the church and other times at the home of Mac Parrott, 110 Acacia Circle, which is located off Country Club Drive, Lexington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Betty McCrary Parrott Scholarship Fund, c/o Davidson County Community College Foundation, PO Box 1287, Lexington, NC 27293 or Grace Episcopal Church, 419 S. Main Street, Lexington, NC 27292.
