Betty Lorraine Beck Queen, age 74 of Fisher Street, Lexington passed away Thursday night at Lexington Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday (October 19, 2009) at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Bowen and Rev. Stan Martin officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Betty was born in Davidson County, July 21, 1935 to William A. Beck and Macy McCaskill Beck. She was a former employee of Burlington Industries and a member of The Meeting House UCA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Johnnie Vernil Queen, May 25, 2009, sister, Oledah Duncan, brothers, J.W. Beck and Bobby B. Beck and great grandson, Brennan “Bren-Bren” Coleman.
Surviving are; two daughters, Darlene Beeson and husband Steve and Marlynn Queen all of Lexington; four grandchildren, Johnny Eugene Smith and wife Billie, Tommy Lee Smith, Christopher Dale Lakey and Aimee Lynn Lakey; eight great-grandchildren, Jordan, Savannah, Ariana, Michael, Levi, Jaelyn, Colin and Trey; sisters, Shirley Lawson, Vada Williams and husband George all of Lexington and Joyce Gordon of Atlanta, GA
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
